New Sunlight’s men, women, and youth who serve in the Usher Ministry serve in an important role in the church. They are the ‘doorkeepers in the house of God” who are ready, willing and eager to welcome and greet our visitors and fellow worshippers and help them enjoy the sacredness of worshipping God. The ministry of church ushers’ area of responsibilities include the greeting and seating of worshippers, providing care for the needs of the pastor before and during the service, attending to the needs of the visiting speaker or guests of honor, watching for the safety of the congregation and helping to make worshippers comfortable. Furthermore, its responsibilities include assisting the family during funeral services, providing support for other New Sunlight church ministries and special programs, providing programs, envelopes and fans to worshippers, and collecting offerings. Our Usher Ministry consists of adults, youth and children. “For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.” Psalm 84:10
